About Travis
Travis is currently, leading product development at [stealth startup]. His superpower is in connecting complex science/math to impactful business problems and building software around them. He also brings enterprise sales, behavioral finance and founder skills. [stealth startup] is on the forefront of big data, leveraging the best of what is possible and creating new machine learning algorithms specifically tailored to deal with complex real-world data.
Travis cofounded and heads Rotary Gallop LLC – a Big Data Company in Finance that applies machine learning algorithms and key mathematics from game theory to impact investments and strategy in the market for corporate control (M&A, Hostile Takeover, and Activist Situations). Travis’s analysis on popular contested situations is often featured in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. As a value investor, he has run a concentrated deep value/special-situations equity portfolio from June 2006 to Nov 2011, which returned 71.05% relative to the S&P 500’s -5.77%. He has taught workshops on sustainable competitive advantage, business valuation, and the wider applications of behavioral finance and prospect theory. Travis received his Ph.D. in physics from the world’s leading institution for condensed matter, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Travis has also co-founded a successful local business and a technology startup.
